The mechanics of a strike never really change as players develop. So start with some basics where the ball isn't even involved. Add the ball and develop precision of touch so that the ball goes to where you want it to. Following a progessive develpment process eventually leads to a fully game functional weak foot.

Develop ' General' Mechanics

In this exercise: 

  • Develop the Step in and balance (Knee touch cone without losing balance)
  • Develop to move the foot in a ball striking path (a move round a small cone)
