Self Assessment

Quick Version

At the end of the session complete this self assessment

  • What 5 Patterns did you specifically work on?
  • Did you add in Acceleration :  De-acceleration : Change of direction?
  • Did you build these patterns in complexity? [ L0-> L4]
  • Did you ensure players couldn't disengage by not giving them the chance?
  • Did you follow the 'deep practice process' and 'feedback cycle process'?
  • Did you use the 'introduce, coach it, feedback, improve it , race it , move on' process.
  • Did the tech games add these extra elements :
    • Decision making development.
    • Develop an understanding of the relationship between attackers / defender in 1v1 moments).
    • Develop the opportunity to manipulate time and space whilst under pressure.
    • Offer loads of repetition of using footwork in games to move the ball between spaces.
  • Did you build the complexity of the tech games (1v1s, 2v1s ,2 v2s* : low pressure to high pressure)?
  • Are you happy that everything you did in the session would help them play better in the small sided games?

The above is based on 20 years of coaching experience, and TST experience.

I don't expect new TST coaches to know or get all of this naturally,

so you need to go on a (steep if a new coach) learning curve to fully get the TST coaching process.

If you need clarification on any of the above , please get back to me.

I have all the information available. I just don't know what you don't know.
