Basic Rules (2v2 and 3v3)

  • The one pass rule: A team needs to do at least one (definite) pass to score, This starts AGAIN after every definite touch from the opposition.
  • The half way line rule : A team can't score from their own half. they must be in their attacking half.
  • The clever lifting rule : A player can lift the ball only if it is a clever scoop otherwise the ball must stay low.
  • The lifting rule : If the ball is lifted it must be brought back to the ground immediately. If not the team that lifted it first loses possession.
  • The run it in rule : If ball goes out then the team getting possession can run it in or pass it in
  • The 1 meter rule and the behind the ball rule : When the balls goes out, the defending team must be 1 meter away from the attacker playing it in back in, and the defender cannot stand higher than the ball.
  • The little bit out rule : If ball goes a 'little bit out (fraction of a second) and it takes one quick touch to get it back in then it remains in.
  • The own goal rule : Own goals don't count as goals (attacking team just gets the ball back, and starts from their defensive end ( as if it is a goal kick).
  • The Deflection rule: Deflections count as a goal. If it was a shot that might have gone in (on target) and it deflects in, it is a goal.
  • The forcing rule : If a shot is blocked by a defender and then goes out, it becomes the defenders ball and they start.
  • First time finish rule : Applies if a team is winning by 2 clear goals (can be played at all levels).
  • The 3 second rule : When a team restarts, the team in possession get 3 seconds maximum to start playing. They can be pressed as soon as they touch the ball, or after the 3 seconds expire - which ever occurs first.
